Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy
In contrast to X-ray crystallography this technique can be applied to molecules in solution and is thus more suitable to study the dynamics and interactions of molecules. Although NMR allows determination of atomic structures of increasingly large subunits and even entire complexes, its application is for the most part limited to proteins with less than 300 amino acid residues.
